AGO seizes land in oil management case, ensures fuel supply uninterrupted
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has seized two plots of land owned by PT Orbit Terminal Merak (OTM) in connection with an ongoing investigation into the management of crude oil and refinery products by subholdings of State energy company PT Pertamina and contractors (KKKS) between 2018 and 2023.
The seized properties are located in Lebak Gede, Pulomerak sub-district, Cilegon City, Banten. PT OTM, a company owned by Muhammad Kerry Andrianto Riza and Gading Joedho, had built an oil refinery on the premises.
"Investigators from the Office of Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) have been on-site since around 7:00 AM to carry out the seizure," AGO Spokesman, Harli Siregar, told a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 11, as quoted by Antara.
The first plot of land measures 31,921 square meters and is registered under PT Orbit Terminal Merak with Building Use Rights Certificate, while the second plot spans 190,694 square meters with Building Use Rights Certificate, also under the same company.
Several key infrastructure elements are located on the seized land, including:
● Five oil tanks with a capacity of 24,400 kiloliters (KL);
● Three oil tanks with a capacity of 20,200 KL;
● Four oil tanks with a capacity of 12,600 KL;
● Seven oil tanks with a capacity of 7,400 KL;
● Two oil tanks with a capacity of 7,000 KL;
● Jetty 1 with a maximum displacement of 133,000 metric tons (MT);
● Jetty 2 with a maximum displacement of 20,000 MT;
● A public fuel filling station, registered as No. 342414.
"The investigators believe these properties are directly connected to the case concerning the procurement of crude oil and refinery products at (Pertamina’s commercial and trade subholding) PT Pertamina Patra Niaga," Harli said.
Despite the seizure, the AGO assured that fuel supply operations will not be affected. The refinery will be placed under the management of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga to ensure continued functionality.
Muhammad Kerry Andrianto Riza, son of prominent oil businessman M. Riza Chalid and owner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa, controls PT OTM. Gading Joedho serves as the company’s President Director.
