President Prabowo Subianto has expressed optimism about the potential of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara), stating that its total wealth could reach US$1 trillion (Rp16,837 trillion) if managed effectively.

“This is extraordinary wealth and it can drive our resurgence. If we manage it properly and assess our assets, we’ll realize just how rich we are,” Prabowo said on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Danantara has officially completed the integration of all 844 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) − both parent companies and subsidiaries − under its management. The consolidation, seen as a strategic move for Indonesia's economic future, is grounded in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, according to Danantara CEO Rosan P. Roeslani.

“Danantara’s presence truly comes at the perfect time,” Rosan said on Monday, April 28, 2025.

He emphasized that global political and economic instability − from heightened geopolitical tensions to shifting geo-economic dynamics − has underscored the need for nations to rely more heavily on their internal economic strength rather than external powers.

He reiterated that Indonesia’s economy should be based on the principle of collective effort and kinship, while also respecting market mechanisms. At the same time, he defended the government's right to intervene if markets veer away from national interests or long-term development goals.

“These are state-owned enterprises, or more accurately, nationally-owned enterprises,” Rosan cited.

According to Rosan, Danantara exists to serve the people’s interest and help Indonesia become a stronger and more independent nation. To realize this vision, he emphasized that both Danantara and all BUMNs must embody the “3Cs”: Character, Competence, and Commitment.

For Character, Rosan said all BUMN leaders must demonstrate integrity and professionalism, rooted in the values of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

For Competence, leaders must be capable of expanding business operations and addressing complex challenges, while also continuously improving their organizations.

He also underlined Commitment as crucial − referring to the importance of upholding good corporate governance, transparency, accountability, and integrity. This includes full adherence to national laws and regulations.

“With the 3Cs, I believe all SOEs under Danantara will grow more rapidly,” Rosan said, while noting that Danantara has zero tolerance for unethical conduct.

“Hopefully, Danantara’s new chapter, together with the BUMNs, will generate extraordinary and positive value not only for the Indonesian economy, but also for our people, nation, and beloved homeland,” he concluded.
