Director-General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham), Silmy Karim, revealed that approximately 1,000 students switch their citizenship to become Singaporean citizens each year.Silmy mentioned that the majority of these individuals who change their nationality are between the ages of 25 and 35. "Around 1,000 people per year, aged 25 to 35," stated Silmy on Tuesday (July 11, 2023).
