China is set to inject Rp36.4 trillion (US$2.2 billion) into the Batang Integrated Industrial Estate in Central Java as part of a major bilateral cooperation initiative, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto announced.

The investment stems from 16 collaborative projects involving the Indonesian government and the Communist Party of China’s Fuzhou provincial representatives under the Twin Country Two Parks partnership scheme.

“During the meeting with representatives from the Communist Party of China in Fuzhou, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed for 16 projects worth Rp 36.4 trillion,” Airlangga told a press conference after a limited cabinet meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

The projects include the development of a steel production facility with an annual capacity of one million tons, facilities for meat and seafood processing, nickel iron trade activities, as well as research and development centers for high-end textile and advanced manufacturing products.

Additional cooperation will extend to coal management, textile raw material supply, the tea and jasmine industries, and direct procurement of agricultural commodities such as coconuts and durians.

Airlangga emphasized that the initiative will play a key role in accelerating investment realization within the Batang industrial zone, a flagship site designed to attract global manufacturing companies and strengthen Indonesia’s industrial value chains.
