The Ministry of Trade is targeting a 10 percent increase in transaction value at the 2025 Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), aiming to secure US$16.5 billion (Rp277.7 trillion).

To achieve this goal, the ministry has introduced several innovations, including pre-business matching. According to Fajarini Puntodewi, Director General of National Export Development at the Trade Ministry, the strategy involves providing the list of TEI 2025 exhibitors to 132 government trade representatives abroad ahead of the event. This allows buyers to connect with exhibitors early, making their on-site meetings at TEI more focused on finalizing deals.

“It is expected that buyers at TEI 2025 will be more targeted than last year, since many will have already matched with exhibitors beforehand. That’s what differentiates TEI 2025 from the previous year,” Fajarini told a press conference on Monday, September 29, 2025.

So far, 6,850 buyers from 106 countries have registered to attend TEI 2025, scheduled for October 15–19, 2025 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten. These buyers represent around 80 percent of global purchasers. The largest delegations are expected from Nigeria, Malaysia, India, and China.

The expo will host 1,015 companies divided into three categories: food and beverages, manufacturing, and lifestyle. Around 350 companies will participate in the food and beverage sector, offering agricultural products, licensing businesses, and franchises.

The manufacturing sector will include 177 companies, showcasing products such as critical minerals and industrial services. Meanwhile, lifestyle companies will dominate the event, with 574 businesses − about 56 percent of all exhibitors − offering textiles, apparel, and fashion-related products.

“We hope TEI 2025 will elevate Indonesian products onto the global stage. Beyond that, we want TEI 2025 to satisfy buyers’ demand for high-quality products,” Fajarini said.
