State telecommunications company, PT Telkom Indonesia is preparing to divest one of its key assets, PT Telkom Infrastruktur Indonesia (Infranexia), which specializes in fiber-optic business operations.

The planned divestment was revealed during the Public Expose Live 2025 hosted by the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Telkom’s Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio, Seno Soemadji, said the spin-off aims to strengthen the long-term foundation of Telkom’s fiber business.

“Preparations for the divestment include asset separation, financial structuring, and the establishment of governance that will be more attractive to investors. The review process is on track and is expected to open opportunities for transactions, whether through partnerships, capital injections, or other corporate actions based on transparency, integrity, and scalability,” Seno said.

He highlighted that Infranexia’s current fiber network utilization stands at only around 40 percent, indicating significant room for expansion and monetization.

“The first stage of asset transfer to Infranexia is targeted for completion by the end of 2025, pending shareholder approval. This phase will cover more than 50 percent of Telkom’s infrastructure assets by book value, including access, aggregation backbone, and other supporting assets,” he cited.

Alongside the divestment plan, Telkom also released its first-half 2025 financial results. The state-owned telecom operator posted revenues of Rp73 trillion (US$4.5 billion), down 6.7 percent from the same period last year, with Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) reaching Rp36.1 trillion.

“Stable mobile subscriber numbers and rising data consumption are showing early signs of recovery,” Telkom’s management noted in its public presentation, on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Telkomsel remained the largest revenue contributor, accounting for 71.6 percent of total income. Its customer base stood at 158.4 million, a slight annual decline of 0.9 percent. Meanwhile, fixed broadband services recorded 10.1 million subscribers, with an additional 220,000 new users in the first half of 2025.
