Mining company Eramet Indonesia has confirmed that collaboration with the Indonesian Investment Management Agency (INA) and Sovereign Wealth Agency Danantara Indonesia is underway and will continue into the future, citing ongoing cooperation to establish a strategic investment platform in the nickel sector, from upstream to downstream operations.

"We are working on it, discussing with Danantara and INA about collaborating," Jérôme Baudelet, CEO of Eramet Indonesia, spoke at the Eramet Journalist Class event on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Jérôme could not yet detail the form of the collaboration between the three parties, but citing that Weda Bay Nickel, which Eramet has a joint participation in, would be one of the topics discussed along with several other projects that are possible to develop together.

All discussions are currently in the early stages, so details cannot be made public.

"We are very interested in discussing with them; Danantara and INA are excellent partners," Jérôme said.

Previously, Danantara and INA signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Eramet for cooperation in critical mineral management to support electric vehicles (EVs) and nickel downstreaming.

Danantara's Chief Investment Officer, Pandu Patria Sjahrir, said that Danantara and INA play a role in managing long-term financing to support investment development.

This MoU agreement is outlined in the 21 commitments signed between President Prabowo Subianto and French President Emmanuel Macron on May 28, 2025, in Jakarta.

Eramet will contribute its technical expertise and experience in managing large-scale mining projects in accordance with international sustainability standards.
