Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti, has submitted a proposal for an additional Rp886.63 billion (US$54.5 million) in funding for the Ministry of Trade’s 2026 fiscal year.

“This request covers Rp272.57 billion in operational spending and Rp614.05 billion in non-operational expenses,” Dyah told a hearing with Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Monday, July 14, 2025.

The additional budget, sent to the Ministry of Finance on June 12, 2025, is primarily intended to accommodate a rise in personnel expenses due to the addition of 915 new staff at the ministry. It will also support operational needs and help fulfill the Ministry’s core functions related to 335 National Priority (PN) Outputs and 370 non-PN Outputs, which currently lack allocated funding.

“With this proposal, the Ministry of Trade’s indicative budget for 2026 would total Rp1.98 trillion,” she added.

The current indicative budget for 2026 stands at Rp1.1 trillion, a 40.63 percent decrease from the 2025 allocation of Rp1.85 trillion − a reduction of Rp752 billion year-on-year.

The detailed 2026 indicative budget allocation per echelon I unit within the Ministry of Trade are as follows:

● Secretariat General: Rp999.4 billion;

● Directorate General of Domestic Trade: Rp8.03 billion;

● Directorate General of Foreign Trade: Rp6.63 billion;

● Directorate General of International Trade Negotiations: Rp7.35 billion;

● Inspectorate General: Rp5.35 billion;

● Directorate General of National Export Development: Rp5.73 billion;

● Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti): Rp5.23 billion;

● Trade Policy Agency: Rp4.24 billion;

● Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order: Rp34.06 billion;

● Trade Human Resources Training Agency: Rp24.29 billion.
