The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has announced its new national leadership for the 2025–2030 term, following the First Syura Council Deliberation held in Jakarta on June 3-4, 2025. 

Al Muzzammil Yusuf was named the new President of PKS, succeeding Ahmad Syaikhu, while Mohamad Sohibul Iman has been selected as Chairman of the Syura Council, replacing Salim Segaf Al-Jufri.

Founded in 1998, PKS is an Islamic-based political party in Indonesia that focuses on promoting religious values, public service, anti-corruption efforts, and national development.

"God willing, the new leadership is committed to continuing and strengthening the party's role in public service, empowerment, and advocacy," PKS spokesperson Muhammad Kholid said on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

The appointment follows an e-voting process held on May 31, 2025, in which PKS's pioneering members elected the new Syura Council. The newly formed council then held its first session to determine the party’s top leadership structure.

About Al Muzzammil Yusuf

Al Muzzammil Yusuf, born June 6, 1965, is a seasoned Indonesian politician who now leads PKS into its next chapter. He also serves as a member of the House of Representatives (DPRI), representing First Lampung Electoral District, which includes South Lampung, West Lampung, Pesisir Barat, Tanggamus, Pesawaran, Pringsewu, Bandar Lampung, and Metro.

Yusuf's academic background includes:

● SD Persit Tanjung Karang Elementary School;

● SMP Negeri 72 Jakarta Junior High School;

● SMA Negeri 4 Jakarta Senior High School;

● Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia;

● Master’s degree in Political Communication from Sahid University, Jakarta;

● Doctorate from Universitas Indonesia.
