State electricity company PT PLN is exploring a strategic partnership with the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) to align energy policy development with the country’s long-term economic growth trajectory and industrial acceleration.

During a meeting on Thursday, May 22, 2025 Governor of Lemhannas, TB Ace Hasan Syadzily, welcomed the move and emphasized the importance of cross-agency synergy in crafting comprehensive and relevant strategic policies, particularly in the energy sector.

“We are very pleased to continue this collaboration. Thank you − this is an honor for Lemhannas to engage directly with the PLN leadership,” Ace said on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

He underscored the need for in-depth analysis and discourse around energy resilience, especially regarding electricity mapping and availability to support rapid industrial development.

Ace also noted that Lemhannas has intensified its research on energy resilience, with a growing focus on renewable energy development and interpreting global geopolitical dynamics that affect national energy strategies.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo affirmed that the collaboration reflects PLN’s commitment to reinforcing national energy security − a critical pillar in supporting economic growth and national self-reliance.

“PLN is ready to collaborate with Lemhannas RI to strengthen our data foundation and strategic analysis, helping to inform the President’s policies in this increasingly complex and dynamic energy landscape,” Darmawan said.

He expressed PLN’s readiness to contribute detailed and comprehensive electricity data to enrich Lemhannas’ research and strategic outputs. Darmawan also proposed the creation of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PLN and Lemhannas as a formal step to broaden the scope of collaboration.

The proposed MoU is expected to cover not only data sharing and research initiatives, but also programs focused on national insight development for PLN employees.

“An MoU between PLN and Lemhannas will serve as a crucial foundation to solidify our synergy, ensure seamless collaboration, and maximize the benefits for accelerating energy transition and reinforcing national resilience,” Darmawan concluded.
