Telkom Indonesia appoints Angga Raka Prabowo as president commissioner
State telecommunication company PT Telkom Indonesia named Angga Raka Prabowo as its new President Commissioner during the company’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (RUPST) in Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Angga currently serves as Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Application and is widely recognized for his political background within the Gerindra Party. He replaced Bambang Brodjonegoro, who stepped down from the role on April 10, 2025, following his appointment as Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI).
The shareholders’ meeting also confirmed the appointment of Dian Siswarini, former CEO of XL Axiata, as the new President Director of Telkom Indonesia. She succeeded Ririek Adriansyah, whose term had come to an end.
Angga's political career has been closely tied to President Prabowo Subianto. In the 2024 general election, Angga played a key role as Head of Communications and Media Director for the National Campaign Team supporting the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka presidential election ticket.
His journey with the Gerindra Party began in 2008 after meeting Prabowo, and his loyalty was so deep as his mother even included “Prabowo” in his full name. Angga joined Prabowo’s media team in 2012 and later served as his personal secretary from 2014 to 2017.
His close relationship with Prabowo was also visible during the presidential campaign in Bengkulu, where Prabowo proudly introduced his young aide and secretary to the crowd. Angga was seen smiling at the time, a gesture that highlighted the trust and bond between them.
This leadership change at Telkom signals a strategic shift as the company positions itself for deeper integration of digital infrastructure and political insight amid Indonesia's fast-evolving telecommunications landscape.
