Medco E&P Grissik Ltd., a subsidiary energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional, along with the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas), has completed 3D seismic acquisition in the Rebonjaro Field, Corridor Block, South Sumatra. 

Director & COO of MedcoEnergi, Ronald Gunawan, emphasized that the company is determined to maintain sustainable production and reliable energy supply. 

"The good production performance and safety record in the Corridor Block reflect MedcoEnergi's commitment to operational excellence and sustainable energy development," Ronald said in a media statement as quoted on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. 

This seismic acquisition covers an area of 165 square kilometer and produces high-quality subsurface data that will form the basis for planning further exploration drilling. Advanced Wireless Acquisition technology is used in this process to obtain higher data resolution while minimizing environmental impacts. 

“Continued investment in exploration, development, and production optimization is essential to ensure reliable gas supply, strengthen national energy security, and support economic growth,” Ronald added. 

As of February 2025, gas production in this block was recorded at 5 percent higher than the target in the 2025 Work Program & Budget (WP&B), reflecting optimal operational efficiency. 

The Corridor Block is the main source of national gas supply, which is allocated to a gas subholding of State energy company PT Pertamina, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN); a subsidiary of State energy PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan; state-owned fertilizer company PT Pupuk Sriwijaya; State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), and a natural gas distribution company PT Energasindo Heksa Karya.
