Group demands end to privatization of Komodo conservation area

A conservationist group, Aliansi Komodo Memanggil (AKM), held a protest in front of the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Forestry in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, rejecting the construction of luxury villas on Padar Island, an island within the preserved Komodo National Park (KNP), East Nusa Tenggara province.
