Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto met with visiting Former Prime Minister of Turkiye (2016-2018), Binali Yildirim, in Jakarta on Thursday, June 6, 2024, discussing bileral defense cooperation.

The meeting preceded a discussion that took place in the Defense Minister’s office in Central Jakarta. This marks an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Turkiye, as well as a good opportunity between the two countries, particularly in the defense sector.

“I really appreciate the visit of H. E. Mr. Binali Yildirim to the Ministry of Defense to strengthen bilateral relations with Indonesia,” Prabowo said.

He added that Indonesia highly appreciates the strong commitment of the Turkish Ministry of Defense in supporting defense industry cooperation, both within the framework of Government-to-Government and Business-to-Business.

The cooperation built between Indonesia and Turkiye is expected to not only increase national defense capacity, but also strengthen diplomatic relations and strengthen the position of both countries in the international arena.
