The Jakarta’s 2024 gubernatorial election heats up, with the latest polls by Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) and Poltracking Indonesia reveal differing frontrunners.
The surveys showed contrasting results: LSI places Pramono Anung and running mate Rano Karno in the lead, while Poltracking favors Ridwan Kamil and Suswono.
Conducted nearly simultaneously, LSI’s survey ran from October 10-17, 2024, while Poltracking’s took place from October 10-16.
According to LSI’s results, the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno duo, known as Pram-Doel, leads with 41.6 percent of the vote, compared to Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) at 37.4 percent, and Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardhana trailing at 6.6 percent.
Additionally, LSI reports 14.4 percent of respondents remain undecided. Rano Karno emerged as the preferred vice-gubernatorial candidate, receiving 67.1 percent support, with Suswono at 14.8 percent and Kun at 2 percent.
LSI’s survey sampled 1,200 respondents via face-to-face interviews and has a margin of error of +/- 2.9 percent.
On the other hand, Poltracking’s survey presents a different landscape, with Ridwan Kamil leading at 54.8 percent, Pramono Anung at 32.9 percent, and Dharma at 4.1 percent.
For the vice-gubernatorial race, Poltracking’s results show Rano Karno at 49 percent, Suswono at 33.7 percent, and Kun at 4.2 percent.
Poltracking’s survey included 2,000 respondents, also using face-to-face interviews, with a margin of error of +/- 2.2 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
The Jakarta Provincial Election Commission held the second debate on Sunday, October 27, at Beach City International Stadium in Ancol, North Jakarta.
The event featured all three candidate pairs − Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardhana, and Pramono Anung-Rano Karno.
With each survey revealing different potential frontrunners, the debate proved crucial in swaying undecided voters and setting the tone for the remainder of the campaign.
