Ganjar Pranowo top performer at third debate

Presidential candidate number 3 Ganjar Pranowo is considered to be the best master in the third debate session on Sunday compared to the other two rivals, said the Kompas Research & Development poll results.

The Kompas R & D poll revealed that Ganjar scored 7.4 in the point of mastering the issues debated, followed by presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan with 7.2 and presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto with 6.9.

On the criteria of answering questions correctly and straightforwardly, Ganjar and Anies both scored 7.4, while Prabowo at the bottom with 6.9.

“The assessment of the presidential candidates in the following matters is on a scale of 1 (very bad) to 10 (very good),” the poll read as viewed on Monday.

Respondents were also asked ‘in general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the performance of the following presidential candidates in the third presidential debate?’. The majority of respondents said they were satisfied with Ganjar’s debate performance compared to Anies and Prabowo.

“The level of satisfaction with Anies’ performance was 71.4 percent, Prabowo 48.9 percent, and Ganjar 79.7 per cent,” the poll continued.

The poll was conducted on 7 January 2024 at 19.30-20.00 WIB, involving 210 respondents from all over Indonesia through interviews.

The sample was determined randomly from the Kompas R & D panel respondents, according to the proportion of the population in each province. The confidence level is 95 percent with a margin of error of approximately 6.76 percent under simple random sampling conditions.

The third debate session on Sunday evening raised the theme of defense, security, international relations, geopolitics and foreign policy.
