Dozens of Indonesian Navy warships demonstrated the nation’s maritime strength on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in a grand naval parade witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto, during a Presidential Inspection held on board the hospital ship KRI dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat-992 in Jakarta Bay.

The event, staged ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Military (TNI), featured the Navy’s largest warship, frigate class KRI Brawijaya-320, leading a sailing pass of 51 naval vessels. The formation included six frigates, 10 corvettes, two submarines, three landing ships, 16 fast attack craft, two mine-hunters, six patrol ships, four auxiliary vessels, and two naval training tall ships − KRI Dewaruci and KRI Bima Suci.

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka also attended the parade, which involved not only the Navy, but also vessels from other state agencies, including the Indonesian Army’s river fleet, the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the National Police’s Water and Air Unit (Polairud), the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Sea and Coast Guard (KPLP), and fishing associations.

The display extended to the skies, with the Navy’s aviation wing deploying aircraft such as Bonanza, Piper, CN-235, NC-212, Bell-412 and Panther helicopters, along with three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The live demonstrations included the firing of naval guns, anti-submarine rocket launchers (RBU-6000), and the RM-70 Grad multi-launch rocket system from the amphibious ship KRI Teluk Amboina-503, thrilling thousands of spectators.

During the ceremony, President Prabowo also conferred state decorations, including the Yudha Dharma Pratama and Samkaryanugraha stars. The former is the nation’s highest military honor for extraordinary service beyond the call of duty, while the latter recognizes individuals who have contributed to military operations and national defense development.

In addition, the President granted honorary promotions to several retired TNI officers in recognition of their lifetime contributions to the country.

The naval parade is seen as part of President Prabowo’s Asta Cita vision to strengthen Indonesia’s national defense system, as well as Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali’s priority program to ensure operational readiness and boost the country’s defense industry capacity.

“This showcase reflects our commitment to prepare naval forces that are ready for deployment, while also supporting the government’s agenda of building a stronger national defense industry,” Admiral Ali said.
