Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic ties with the Latin American and Caribbean (Amlatkar) region through the Indonesia-Latin America and the Caribbean (INA-LAC) Business Mission 2025 held in São Paulo, Brazil, on September 22–23, 2025.

This year’s INA-LAC event featured a comprehensive formation involving regulators, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and national private sectors. It included the participation of one institution, the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), and 14 Indonesian companies of medium to large scale from various sectors, including energy, automotive, strategic industries, agro-industry, cosmetics, logistics, and financial services.

The event was also attended by 120 entrepreneurs and government representatives from Brazil and other Amlatkar countries such as Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Jamaica, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.

Throughout the event, 220 business meetings took place. Additionally, 15 companies, 2 chambers of commerce, and 1 government institution conducted business pitching sessions with potential partners. Although smaller in scale compared to previous years, this year’s event was more focused and result-oriented.

In the past year, transactions facilitated through INA-LAC amounted to US$581 million, consisting of US$284 million in potential agreements and US$297 million in concrete transactions, primarily in the automotive, mining, strategic industries, waste management, and tourism sectors.

Some of the key agreements reached this year include:

  • The establishment of the Indonesia-Brazil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, initiated by Paulo Azevedo and KADIN Indonesia.
  • Defense equipment procurement worth US$4.3 million and potential armored vehicle purchases worth US$2.4 million by WTech Mexico from Indonesia’s State-owned arm manufacturer PT Pindad.
  • A cooperation agreement between Indonesia’s State-owned aircraft manufacturer PTDI and Lassac Aereo Peru (2025) for aircraft MRO services.
  • A US$12 million deal for the purchase of car tires from EP Tire by Badax Group Brazil.
  • A US$100 million investment in waste management projects in Bali and Jakarta with Bhumi Green Energy.
  • A potential US$50 million purchase of mining products by Odora Minerals.
  • A potential US$5 million investment in hotels and villas in Bali by Odora Minerals.

Acep Somantri, Expert Staff for Management Affairs at Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that the success of INA-LAC 2025 further strengthens Indonesia’s position in the Amlatkar region. “This cooperation demonstrates that Indonesia can be a strategic partner in the region. Amidst global economic challenges, concrete and sustainable business relationships are key to fostering mutual growth,” he said in a statement on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

The event was supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Brasília-DF, KADIN Indonesia, and ITPC São Paulo, as well as all Indonesian missions in Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Havana, Lima, Mexico City, Panama City, Paramaribo, Quito, and Santiago.
