House Commission IV approves Rp41.45 T budget for agriculture ministry in 2026
The House of Representatives’ (DPR) Commission IV has approved the 2026 budget ceiling for the Ministry of Agriculture at Rp41.45 trillion (US$2.5 billion), reflecting an increase of Rp145 billion from the previous allocation of Rp40 trillion.
“Commission IV of the House of Representatives approves the 2026 budget ceiling for the Ministry of Agriculture, amounting to Rp41.45 trillion,” Commission IV Chairperson Siti Hediati (Titiek) Soeharto said during a hearing at the House compound in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono cited that the additional funds will be focused on activities aligned with President Prabowo Subianto’s priorities, as well as on fulfilling tasks and functions of the ministry that have not yet been financed. He emphasized that the extra allocation will also support programs that have a direct impact on economic growth and public welfare.
“The proposed additional Rp145 billion will finance three key activities,” Sudaryono noted.
An amount of Rp54.12 billion will be allocated for the construction of 492 units of Farm Access Roads (Jalan Usaha Tani), bringing the total number of roads to 1,000 units next year; Rp60.18 billion for a durian development program, covering 4,300 hectares of farmland; Rp30.08 billion for a poultry assistance program, providing 92,500 birds.
Breakdown of the 2026 Ministry of Agriculture Budget:
- Food availability, access, and quality consumption program: Rp23.81 trillion;
- Value-added and competitiveness of agro-industries program: Rp6.62 trillion;
- Vocational education and training program: Rp747.69 billion;
- Management support program: Rp8.95 trillion.
