President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate several new members of his Red-and-White Cabinet at the State Palace on Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2025, with political and security figures seen arriving ahead of the ceremony.

Former deputy National Police chief Comr. Gen. (ret.) Ahmad Dofiri was the first to arrive around 12:30 p.m., dressed in full ceremonial uniform and accompanied by his wife. Dofiri, who officially retired in June after turning 58, is rumored to be appointed as a presidential special staffer, though the Palace has yet to confirm.

At 1:12 p.m., Sarah Sadiqa, deputy for strategy and policy development at the National Public Procurement Agency, entered the palace grounds. Asked about her new role, Sarah said she did not know her designation. Shortly after, Mira Tayyiba, director general for government digital technology at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Application also arrived, but declined to comment.

Home Minister Tito Karnavian, dressed in a black suit and blue tie, later confirmed that the inauguration would include the new coordinating political, legal and security affairs minister, though he did not reveal the appointee’s name.

“As home minister, I am under the coordination of the Coordinating political, legal and security affairs minister, and from what I heard, that post will be filled,” Tito told reporters.

Government sources indicated that retired Lieutenant General Djamari Chaniago will be sworn in as coordinating minister for political, legal, and security affairs, while Erick Thohir will take the role of youth and sports minister.

Prior to the cabinet reshuffle, Prabowo is also expected to bestow honorary promotions to two retired officers: Ahmad Dofiri and Djamari Chaniago, elevating them to the rank of full general.

Dofiri, a 1989 graduate of the National Police Academy, has held several key posts, including intelligence chief (Kabaintelkam) at the National Police headquarters, West Java police chief, logistics assistant to the National Police chief, and Banten police chief.

His retirement earlier this year followed government regulations setting the mandatory retirement age for police personnel at 58. He is anticipated to lead the National Police Reform Commission.
