“The group, consisting of 18 individuals, departed from Tribhuvan International Airport and is scheduled to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Friday, September 12, 2025,” the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
The group includes representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Ministry of Health, GIZ Indonesia, the Hydro Association, academics from the University of Indonesia, and Indonesian tourists.
Most of the returning nationals had been in Kathmandu for the 3rd Exchange of the Renewable Energy Mini-Grids in South-South and Triangular Cooperation (ENTRI) Program, a renewable energy collaboration between Indonesia, Nepal, and Germany, held on September 8-12, 2025.
The Protection Team in Kathmandu has confirmed that there were 78 Indonesian nationals in Nepal when the political crisis began. The majority of these nationals were in Kathmandu, while others were located in Pokhara and Lumbini.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh, will continue monitoring the situation in Nepal to ensure the safe return of all Indonesian nationals in the country.
