IKN Authority puts Rp18.46 T in construction projects up for tender
The Nusantara Capital(IKN) Authority is auctioning 24 construction projects worth Rp18.46 trillion (US$1.1 billion) this month, focusing on the development of legislative and judicial complexes, along with supporting infrastructure in Indonesia’s new capital.
According to the government’s procurement platform, Inaproc, managed by the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP), most of the projects went up for tender on Monday, August 11, 2025 and Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Construction is slated to begin by late October 2025.
The highest-valued project in this month’s tender is the construction of the DPR II building and its complex, worth Rp2.2 trillion. The smallest is the construction management contract for the judicial complex, valued at Rp48 billion. In total, legislative area projects account for Rp10.94 trillion of the budget, while judicial projects amount to Rp6.46 trillion.
Based on LKPP data, the legislative zone will feature five main buildings: DPR I, DPR II, the Regional Representative Council (DPD), the Plenary Hall, and the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), with a combined construction budget of Rp9.8 trillion.
The judicial zone will include the Supreme Court, Constitutional Court, Judicial Commission, a grand mosque, and the Justice Plaza, with IKN Authority allocating Rp3.3 trillion for their construction.
Other supporting infrastructure projects up for tender include roads, retention ponds, clean water pipelines, and reservoirs, totaling Rp2.22 trillion.
The government has approved an IKN development budget of Rp48.8 trillion for the 2025–2029 period, meaning only 4.62 percent has been allocated so far. Earlier, IKN Authority head Basuki Hadimuljono noted that this year’s allocation for the authority stands at Rp14.4 trillion − making the value of the projects currently tendered about 28 percent higher than the funds prepared by the Finance Ministry.
President Prabowo Subianto has pledged to continue the construction of the new capital in East Kalimantan over the next five years. “Regarding IKN, it has been confirmed that the project will continue.
The President has ensured that there will be an allocation of approximately Rp48.8 trillion,” Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) told reporters following a limited cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace complex on February 3, 2025.
