In celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Indonesia, nearly 100 leading Chinese technology companies will participate in the “Green and Innovative Cooperation” exhibition at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) on August 13–15, 2025.

The event is hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Indonesia and will be held in conjunction with Emergency Disaster Reduction & Rescue (EDRR) Indonesia 2025, Southeast Asia’s largest emergency and security expo.

According to Bai Qinqin, Vice President of Shanghai International Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd., most exhibitors are officially recognized as “Specialized and Innovative Enterprises” by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Participating firms include cutting-edge exporters from China’s Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, Fujian, and Hubei.

A business delegation from Fuzhou CCPIT will bring SMEs to tap new opportunities in Indonesia. The “exhibition delegation + industrial chain” model aims to help these firms connect with global buyers and enter Southeast Asian markets.

The exhibition targets key Indonesian development sectors, including the booming electric vehicle (EV) market projected at 2.2 million units, the US$38 billion (Rp622.6 trillion) smart city initiative, and healthcare infrastructure across 17,000 islands.

Organizers anticipate 8,000 international professionals in attendance, sharing resources with procurement delegations from all 34 Indonesian provinces and key ASEAN infrastructure stakeholders.

Using an innovative “two exhibitions on one platform” concept, the expo brings together companies from China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries. It aims to open dual access pathways to both the public and private sectors in Indonesia.

Indonesia’s trade volume with China hit US$132 billion in 2024, up 14.4 percent year-on-year, reinforcing China’s position as the country’s largest trading partner for the 10th consecutive year, according to Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

Key focus areas

1. Electric vehicles & energy innovation

Chinese auto giants like SAIC Motor, Guangzhou Automobile Group, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, and NIO will unveil their latest EV models, highlighting fast-charging technology capable of delivering a full charge in just 15 minutes − offering a direct response to Indonesia’s EV expansion plans.

2. Artificial intelligence & robotics

Companies such as Deep Robotics and ULS Robotics will present intelligent robot systems that offer autonomous decision-making and can take over hazardous tasks − aiming to boost productivity in Indonesia’s infrastructure development.

3. Smart city & information technology

Tech leaders including Huawei and Dahua Technology will showcase AI-powered surveillance ecosystems built for tropical climates, promising adaptive algorithms and multi-dimensional sensing to support Indonesia’s ambitious smart city goals.

4. Mobile healthcare for island nations

Innovators like Xiongzhou Technology and Sansure Biotech will debut mobile health solutions tailored for extreme environments, aiming to bridge healthcare gaps across Indonesia’s remote islands.
