Bank DKI rebranded as Bank Jakarta to mark strategic transformation
Bank DKI has officially rebranded itself as Bank Jakarta, unveiling a new name and logo as part of a broader strategic transformation aimed at building a stronger, more adaptive, and professional institution.
The launch event took place at the Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park in Blok M, South Jakarta, on Sunday, June 22, aligning with the city’s 498th anniversary celebrations.
Agus Haryoto Widodo, President Director of Bank Jakarta, said the rebranding signifies more than a visual identity change − it marks a pivotal shift in direction and spirit, reinforcing the bank’s renewed commitment to serving the people of Jakarta and Indonesia.
“This marks the strategic transformation of Bank DKI,” Agus said on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
He cited that the transformation was driven by rapid technological developments, heightened public expectations, and increasingly fierce competition from both traditional banks and innovative fintech companies.
The venue and timing of the launch were carefully chosen to reflect the bank’s inclusive and forward-looking philosophy.
“We’re holding this launch in a literacy park − a public space that symbolizes learning, openness, growth, and collaboration,” Agus noted. He added, “We want to be present not in towering skyscrapers, but among the people. Because we believe real change doesn’t come from comfort, but from strong will and real commitment.”
On the occasion, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo issued a directive to the bank’s leadership to prepare for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) by 2026.
“My main directive to the President Director, the Chief Commissioner, and all of Bank Jakarta’s leadership is to prepare for going public next year,” Pramono said.
He emphasized that public accountability would strengthen the bank’s performance and reaffirmed his commitment to a fully professional leadership.
“The current board is composed entirely of professionals. I won’t allow any political interference or personal placement in Bank Jakarta,” he said.
He pointed out that the rebranding process was handled with professionalism, involving extensive discussions and reflecting the aspirations of Jakarta’s residents. The Jakarta Provincial Administration has pledged its full support, including plans to build a new, representative headquarters for Bank Jakarta.
“It cannot be just an average location. I’ve even spoken with the Finance Minister about securing a prime location for Bank Jakarta, because I believe it will be a source of pride for all Jakartans,” Pramono said.
