ExxonMobil Indonesia names Wade Floyd as new president

ExxonMobil Indonesia has announced the appointment of Wade Floyd as its new president, succeeding Carole Gall. 

The leadership transition marks a strategic move by the energy giant to further strengthen its presence and partnerships in Indonesia amid rising energy demands and the country’s commitment to sustainable growth.

“Indonesia offers tremendous growth potential and a talented workforce. This combination creates significant opportunities for both the country and ExxonMobil,” Floyd said in a statement, on Monday, May 26, 2025.

Floyd brings extensive international experience to his new role, having held senior leadership positions across several countries, including the United States, Equatorial Guinea, the United Arab Emirates, Papua New Guinea, and Iraq.

Prior to his appointment in Indonesia, he served as senior advisor to ExxonMobil’s Executive Committee in Houston, Texas.

“I am honored to join this remarkable team and to build upon the achievements made thus far. We remain committed to deepening our collaboration with the government, business partners, and communities around our operational areas,” he said.

Known for his structured leadership style and ability to empower diverse teams, Floyd is expected to lead ExxonMobil Indonesia in aligning with national energy goals and supporting long-term energy security.

In its official statement, ExxonMobil reaffirmed its commitment to Indonesia, describing the appointment as part of its broader effort to remain a reliable partner in energy development and sustainability.

ExxonMobil, one of the world’s largest publicly traded energy providers, is at the forefront of deploying technology and innovation to meet growing global energy demands.

The company, which holds a leading position in upstream resource development, is one of the world’s largest refiners and marketers of petroleum products. Itoperates a significant petrochemicals business globally and carbon capture storage (CCS) development.

Floyd’s leadership is seen as critical in navigating Indonesia’s evolving energy landscape and ensuring that ExxonMobil continues to contribute meaningfully to the country’s energy resilience and economic advancement.
