Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia has signed the protocol for amending the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on energy between Indonesia and Denmark in the field of Renewable Energy, Clean Energy and Energy Conservation.
"We really appreciate that for approximately 10 years the Governments of Indonesia and Denmark have done many things, especially energy development and more specifically new renewable energy," said Bahlil, on Monday, April 21, 2025.
Bahlil said, in the midst of the current uncertain geopolitical conditions, Denmark is a true friend to Indonesia. Through the extension of this cooperation, it is also based on Denmark's experience in developing renewable energy, especially in the wind sector.
"They have the technology and experience, including to reduce efficiency in energy use," he said.
Bahlil said that through this signing, Indonesia will invite Denmark to invest in the energy sector.
"Our RUPTL for the 2025-2034 period is 60 percent renewable energy and that's a lot of wind, water, sun. I think we should invite all countries," he said.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said the signing was a way to increase cooperation between the two countries. According to him, energy is an important sector for the sustainability of nature in the next generation.
Lars said that this MoU will clarify the journey of the two countries towards the transition to green energy.
"After developing the MOU, we are committed to sharing experiences and lessons with Indonesia and supporting its future implementation," Rasmussen said on Monday, April 21, 2025.
