The House of Representatives (DPR), Defense, Foreign Politics and Security Affairs Commission I has approved the Draft Law (RUU) on Amendment to Law No. 34/2004 on the Indonesian Military (TNI) to be brought further to the Plenary Session for ratification into law. 

Deputy chairman of the House’s Commission I, Dave Laksono, said that thedraft TNI Law is scheduled to be ratified in a Plenary Session on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

"Results of yesterday's meeting have been completed in Stage I of deliberation, so the TNI Bill has been completed. It just needs to be brought to Stage II to be read in a plenary session, which In shaa Allah (God willing) is scheduled for tomorrow," Dave told reporters on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

However, Dave said, that he has yet to receive official invitation to the Plenary Session and is still waiting for the results of the DPR Deliberative Body's decision.

"Because the recess period has been postponed to next Wednesday, the closing plenary session will only be held next Tuesday," he said.

Previously, in the plenary meeting of the Working Committee (Panja) which took place at the House Building, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, all eight DPR factions approved the revision of the TNI Law to be taken to the next stage.

None of the eight factions − the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), the Golkar Party, the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party, the National Awakening Party (PKB), the National Democrat (NasDem) Party, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the DemocraticParty − expressed objections, but only provided a number of notes related to the bill.
