State power utility company PT PLN and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has opened the 2025 SOE Free Homecoming program on March 14-18, 2025,with a quota of more than 11,000 travelers to be departed from four cities.

Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, said that this annual program is meant to help people celebrate Idul Fitri safely and affordably, in accordance with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto.

This program is expected to provide comfort for vulnerable groups, such as women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, while also improving traffic safety during the upcoming Idul Fitri homecoming period.

“Mudik Bersama BUMN [Homecoming Trip with SOEs] has become a routine agenda for SOEs as a form of commitment to provide benefits to the people of Indonesia. This is also in line with President Prabowo Subianto's policy to continue to improve public services," Erick said in a statement as quoted on Friday, March 14, 2025.

PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, added that this program is a form of corporate social responsibility to support people's mobility during the Idul Fitri homecoming season. He invited the public to immediately register and take advantage of this free homecoming facility.

"This step is based on a commitment to support the mobility of the Indonesian people during the Eid homecoming season. In addition, this is also part of the joint efforts of SOEs in the practice of mutual cooperation, which is part of the company's social responsibility," Darmawan said.

PLN's Legal and Human Capital Management Director, Yusuf Didi Setiarto, said the 2025 BUMN Free Homecoming program provides various modes of transportation, such as buses, ships, and trains. The departure cities will be Jakarta, Makassar (South Sulawesi), Balikpapan (East Kalimantan), and Medan(North Sumatra).

"In this program, we provide safe and comfortable bus, ship, and train transportation for all participants. With this, it is hoped that it will not only reduce congestion and the risk of accidents, but also pollution," Yusuf said.

PLN will provide more than 9,000 departure quotas from Jakarta, 1,000 quotas from Makassar, 700 quotas from Balikpapan, and more than 500 quotas from Medan. The quota for homecoming travelers this year has increased by 18 percent compared to the previous year, with the train fleet as the main mode of transportation providing a total of 7,002 seats

Re-registration and confirmation of participant departures will beheld on March 20-21, 2025, along with the collection of homecoming souvenirs. Meanwhile, homecoming departures from Jakarta are scheduled for March 26-27, 2025. The train fleet will depart from Pasar Senen Station, while the bus will depart from the PLN Head Office.
