Minister of Manpower, Yassierli said that the curator team of textile company PT Sritex is looking for new investors to save the company from bankruptcy.

"There are already several candidates (investors)," Yassierli said on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

One of the potential investors is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE). He, however, did not provide further comments.

"I can't tell you, but I heard that there is (a savior candidate)," he said.

Established in 1978, Sritex Group is headquartered in Sukoharjo, Central Java. It consists of Sritex Sukoharjo, Primayudha Boyolali, Sinar Pantja Djaja Semarang and Bitratex Semarang. Sritex confirmed the termination of its operations through the Sritex bankruptcy creditors meeting on February 28, 2025. The company officially closed on the following day.

The Ministry of Manpower is currently coordinating with the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and curators in re-registering former PT Sritex workers. This step aims to accelerate the process of re-employment of workers affected by layoffs.

"The curator is committed to accelerating this process, so that if we look at the assets currently owned by Sritex, they can still be utilized," Yassierli said.

Then, one of the options considered is the utilization of Sritex assets with a rental scheme. It is hoped that this mechanism can reopen employment opportunities for workers affected by layoffs.

"Of course, this is a corporate action that we are waiting for the curator to implement," he said.

In addition, the Ministry of Manpower also continues to coordinate with the workers' union and the Sritex labor union to register workers who are ready to return to work.
