PIS-pertamina

Cargo and shipping subsidiary of State energy company PT Pertamina, PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), booked a 64 percent increase in revenue from the non-captive market in 2024 compared to the previous year.

Speaking on the sidelines of Fortune Summit 2025 event, PIS Risk Management Director, Mohammad Resa, said that this achievement was driven by a business expansion strategy, increasing human resource capabilities, and the reliability of the company's fleet.

As part of the expansion strategy, PIS has opened branch offices in Singapore, Dubai, and London to expand its international market reach.

"This step allows the company to adapt to global market needs and respond to customer demand more effectively," Resa said as quoted in a statement on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Currently, PIS has expanded its shipping routes to cover 65 countries. In building trust in the international market, the company emphasizes the principles of integrity and professionalism in every business transaction. As part of Pertamina, PIS has managed to establish strategic partnerships that benefit the Indonesian maritime industry.

In addition to global expansion, PIS's experience in the international market also supports the development of domestic services, which are still the company's main source of income.

Resa said PIS is determined to provide high-standard services to domestic and international customers, as well as increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian seafarers in the global shipping industry.

In an effort to improve human resource competency, PIS has collaborated with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the International Maritime Employers Council (IMEC) to organize international standard managerial training programs.

In addition, PIS and IMEC also discussed the digitalization of crew management to improve global standards in the shipping sector.

In support of the national maritime industry, PIS has been developing domestic ships and logistics services. The company hopes that the progress achieved can have a positive impact on the competitiveness of the Indonesian maritime industry at the global level.
