The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 commenced on Friday, February 14, 2025 at JIExpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta, in a ceremony opened by Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the event, Agus emphasized the critical role of the automotive industry in Indonesia’s economic growth.

“The government remains committed to supporting the automotive sector by providing incentives such as a 10 percent VAT subsidy for battery electric vehicles (KBLBB) and a 3 percent luxury goods sales tax (PPnBM) discount,” he said as quoted in a statement on Friday, February 14, 2025.

He cited IIMS' positive impact on the national automotive industry. “Last year, IIMS 2024 recorded an outstanding achievement of 19,200 units sold, generating a total revenue of Rp6.7 trillion (US$446 million). This represented a 54.5 percent increase from 2023, despite declining consumer purchasing power in the automotive sector. We are committed to ensuring continued growth through economic policy packages that support the national automotive strategy,” he said.
