The Indonesian Central Bank (BI) has set a number of efforts in support the flagship Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program proposed by President Prabowo Subianto.

Destry Damayanti, Senior Deputy Governor of BI, said that one of the efforts was to maximize the Central and Regional Inflation Control Teams.

Other policy strategies to support the MBG program include macroprudential liquidity policy (KLM) incentives that are directed at business sectors related to MBG, such as horticulture and agriculture.

The KLM incentive itself is an incentive from BI that has existed since January 2025 in support of the MBG program by reducing the bank's mandatory reserves at BI if the bank channels credit to priority sectors.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo expressed his commitment in supporting the Asta Cita program promoted by President Prabowo, especially MBG.

According to him, the program is in line with BI's goal of forming an inclusive economic ecosystem, especially in the financial sector. One concrete step, he cited, BI is designing a policy that will support the implementation of the MBG program.

"Not only the head office but also 46 BI offices throughout Indonesia can support the success of this program," Perry said.

In addition, the government has allocated a budget of Rp71 trillion (US$ 4.4 million) in the 2025 Indonesian State Budget (APBN) to finance the MBG program.
