PT Pertamina Marine Engineering (PME), an oceanography, underwater and port construction and maintenance services provider of State oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has successfully concluded four underwater work services (UWS) projects in the first quarter of 2024.
These projects mark a collaborative effort between PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), PT Kilang Pertamina Indonesia (KPI), and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN), aimed at enhancing the efficiency of national energy distribution.
Yada Prawira Ganta, Director of PME, emphasized the specialized expertise required for UWS endeavors, underscoring the deployment of state-of-the-art equipment and the certification of workers as Class I Divers by the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower.
In line with the commitment to excellence, PME prioritizes timely project completion while adhering to rigorous Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) standards.
As a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), PME plays a pivotal role within the Marine Integrated Marine and Logistics Sub Holding of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), overseeing all maritime and logistics operations of the Pertamina Group.
The four recently completed projects encompass a diverse range of strategic initiatives, including the replacement of Single Point Mooring (SPM) facilities and underwater pipeline construction. These endeavors represent crucial steps towards bolstering Indonesia's energy infrastructure.
The SPM replacement work, conducted in the integrated Terminal Balongan area and the Lawe-Lawe operational region of Refinery Unit V Balikpapan, demonstrates PME's commitment to enhancing maritime facilities vital for energy distribution.
Furthermore, PME undertook essential underwater pipeline projects at the Aviation Fuel Terminal (AFT) in Ngurah Rai Bali and the Fuel Terminal Ternate, showcasing the company's versatility in managing complex marine engineering endeavors.
These accomplishments underscore PME's position as a leading provider of marine engineering solutions, offering comprehensive services ranging from marine mapping and topographic surveys to underwater repairs and maintenance.
