PT Carsurin (CRSN) and the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) have launched a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) battery testing facility, marking a significant step towards making Indonesia a global hub for EV battery production and innovation.

This facility offers a wide range of laboratory testing services, including drop tests, mechanical shock, vibration, overcharging and discharging protection, thermal shock and cycling, over-temperature protection, external short circuit protection, and fire resistance.

"The initial phase of EV battery testing will prioritize two-wheeled vehicles, aligning with the current EV market in Indonesia," Sheila Tiwan, CEO of Carsurin, said in a statement on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

The partnership between Carsurin and NBRI aims to advance Indonesia's vision of becoming a global center for EV battery production, representing a collaborative model between the private sector and research institutions to foster innovation and sustainability.

Sheila highlighted that the establishment of this EV battery testing facility is a crucial step for the company towards a greener and more sustainable future for Indonesia.

The joint laboratory with NBRI symbolizes the company's commitment to excellence, innovation, and environmental well-being.

Evvy Kartini, the founder of NBRI, emphasized that the EV battery testing lab is a testament to Indonesia's vision for advanced and sustainable technology.

By combining resources and expertise, the partnership sets new standards for EV battery testing, research, and innovation.

Evvy cited that this strategic collaboration not only provides laboratory services but also represents Indonesia's potential and progress, contributing to global changes in the EV industry.

"Together, we are moving towards a future where renewable energy and technology create a cleaner, more sustainable world for future generations," she concluded.
