PLN EPI Ensures Coal Stock for Power Plants Secure During Ramadan

PLN Energi Primer Indonesia (PLN EPI) has assured that coal supply for power generation are generally in a secure condition.

"The coal supply for power generation is currently safe, with an average of over 20 Operating Days (HOP)," President Director of PLN EPI, Iwan Agung Firstantara, said in a media statement on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

He said that the coal supply for PLN's Steam Power Plants (PLTU) in the Java-Madura-Bali system is at 26.6 HOP. Meanwhile, the supply for the Sumatra-Kalimantan system at 22.6 HOP, and for Sulawesi-Maluku-Papua-Nusa Tenggara at 32.6 HOP.

Iwan emphasized that the company also monitored loading and unloading processes to procurement, all of which are digitally monitored. In addition to coal needs, PLN also guarantees the availability of other primary energy needs such as oil and gas., with LNG supply at above 20 HOP.

It is noted that the gas demand for PLN power plants nationally reached 1,220 BBTUD with an average realization of 1,229 BBTUD.

"PLN EPI is ready to provide reliable electricity supply during this year's Ramadan period. The power plant fuel supply is currently at a safe level," Iwan said.

Meanwhile, the average fuel supply across the entire system now above 11 HOP.
