Jokowi inaugurates 33 refurbished provincial roads in East Java

President Joko “Widodo” Widodo has inaugurated the refurbished provincial roads in East Java Province. The refurbishment project of the roads cost Rp925 billion (US$62.6 million).
"In East Java Province, the refurbishment project involves 33 road sections totaling 275 kilometers, with a budget of Rp925 billion. This is not a small budget, again Rp925 billion for 33 road sections, one of which we see here," President Jokowi said on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
The president aded that road repairs would not stop in 2023 as they would continue this year. The government has allocated a budget to realize the construction of roads expected to improve road access for the community.
"This will be continued in 2024 for roads that need to be repaired in East Java and in other provinces," he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing revealed the plan to continue the implementation of Presidential Instruction No. 3/2023 on the Acceleration of Regional Road Connectivity Improvement.
Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, said the government has allocated a budget of Rp15 trillion (US$1.01 billion) to continue with the repair of 2,900 kilometers of roads nationwide. "For the implementation of Presidential Instruction [2024], the budget is Rp15 trillion to refurbish 2,900 kilometers of road," said Basuki.
