Business matching 2024 garners contracts worth Rp90 trillion in less than a day
The Ministry of Industry recorded a total contract commitment of Rp90 trillion (US$5.8 billion) during the Business Matching 2024 event on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
The ministry held the Business Matching 2024 event at The Meru Sanur, Denpasar, Bali, on March 4-7, 2024. The theme for this year’s event is self-sufficiency in domestic products towards Indonesia's golden era.
"I can report that, thank God, by 12 pm today, the business matching dashboard has recorded commitments of Rp90 trillion," Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said on Tuesday.
Agus said that the value is considered good because he targeted contract commitments at the Business Matching 2024 event to reach Rp200 trillion. Agus also conveyed that the government continues to make efforts to facilitate the absorption of domestic products in government procurement by ministries, state-owned enterprises, regional governments, and others.
"The most important thing is for us to increase the entry of our products into the E-Catalog as quickly as possible," he said.
Previously, Agus targeted Rp250 trillion as the realization of domestic product procurement until the end of the first quarter of 2024. He argued that the target of Rp250 trillion was because this year's potential spending on goods and capital in the state budget and regional budgets amounted to Rp1,223.37 trillion, which is outside the budget of state-owned enterprises and regional-owned enterprises.
"To support the achievement of this target, the realization of domestic product procurement is expected to reach a minimum of Rp250 trillion by the end of the first quarter of 2024," he said.
Agus expressed hope that in the next three days of the Business Matching 2024 event, contract commitments worth more than Rp200 trillion could be recorded.
Business Matching 2024 is a continuation of similar successful events held in 2022 and 2023. This activity aims to bring together industry players as manufacturers with users of domestic products, especially those using government budget allocations for goods and services procurement.
In the Business Matching for Domestic Product Procurement 2024, the Ministry of Industry collaborates with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This event was also supported by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, as well as the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.
