Indonesia books US$27.9 billion investment in first semester 2025

Indonesia has booked significant investment of Rp477.7 trillion (US$31.5 billion) in the first semester of 2025, marking an 11.5 percent increase compared to the previous year, which recorded at Rp428.4 trillion (US$27.9 billion).

54 smelters in operation, 60 in the process of securing permits: BKPM

Deputy Minister of Investment/Deputy Head of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Todotua Pasaribu, says the Indonesian nickel industry continues to show significant growth, with 54 smelters are in operation − either using High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) or Rotary Klin Electric Furnace (RKEF) technology − and 60 others  are in the process of obtaining permits for construction.
