PT Chubbsafes Indonesia, a safe manufacturer from Sweden with production facilities in Cikarang, Indonesia, has exported 70 percent of its local production to various parts of the world, including China, India, Europe, and the Middle East.

President Director of Chubbsafes Indonesia, Joao Vitorio, said that their presence in Indonesia for the past 51 years is evidence that locally produced products with an average domestic component level (TKDN) of 50 percent can compete in the international market.

“We know that Indonesia usually imports many products from China, but we export to China. They want very good safes and high security, and they get them from us in Indonesia,” Joao said in Cikarang on Monday, May 6, 2024.

The Chubbsafes safe factory, spanning 10,000 square meters, is capable of producing 70 percent of its products for export, while the remaining 30 percent is for the domestic market.

“One of our major markets is the Middle East, and Europe. We also sell most of our exports to European countries like Germany, France, England, Italy, countries that require high-security, high-quality safes,” Joao said.

Chubbsafes’ commitment to quality is demonstrated by various certifications, such as Burglary Resistant Equipment from Europe, France, Sweden, Australia, and China. Up to now, the safe manufacturer has employed up to 350 workers and professional technicians capable of producing up to 30,000 units per year.

“The Chubbsafes Indonesia factory produces up to 30,000 safes, file cabinets, and treasury doors every year with 100 percent internal processing capability,” Joao cited.

Internationally, Chubbsafes is known as one of Gunnebo’s brands, a 260-year-old global provider of security products, services, and software.

Johan van Leersum, Gunnebo Indonesia’s Business Director, said that each product undergoes production and inspection processes in line with theft and fire resistance standards set by international certification bodies.

“While Indonesia continues to import low-quality safes, we export high-quality safes worldwide. Whether for companies or homeowners, those seeking the best value and quality should choose safes produced here,” Van Leersum said.
