PT Pertamina Marine Solutions (PMSol), a subsidiary of PT PERTAMINA Trans Kontinental, has expanded its business by signing a strategic cooperation or Memorandum of Understanding with two Malaysian manning agencies on July 23, 2024.

A manning agency is a company that supplies professional seafarers for various types of vessels, including bulk carriers, tankers, offshore ships, and cruise ships. On this occasion, Pertaminina Marne Solution collaborated with Perkapalan Maju Borneo Sdn.Bhd (PMB) and Varia Armada Sdn.Bhd (VAR).

PMSol Director Dian Prama Irfani said this strategic cooperation includes the provision and management of crew for ships operated by Pertamina Trans Kontenental in Malaysian waters. This, he said, opens up opportunities for PMSol to participate in presenting international standard ship crews to compete in the global market.

“This cooperation is also a form of collaboration between Malaysian and Indonesian ship crews, so that it can encourage the crew’s capacity to be ready to compete in the international shipping world,” Irfani said on Friday July 26, 2024.

This cooperation, he continued, is also part of an important step in PMSol’s journey achieving the company’s vision and mission of becoming an international company. This is in line with the needs of the maritime world market for the supply of ship crew which is increasing.

“This opens up new opportunities for us to further develop our business network at the global level. We hope this will be the beginning of a series of other strategic partnerships, both at home and abroad,” Irfani said.

PMB Director Awang Shapian bin Awang Sulong said that the company is committed to, and supports PMSol in penetrating the international market.

PMSol, as a subsidiary of Pertamina Trans Kontinental , is part of the Integrated Marine Logistics (IML) Subholding of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS). PMSol has 30 years of experience and manages more than 5,000 workers, both ship crews and land-based workers.
