AirAsia has added more than 180 extra flights for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holiday period from December 15, 2024 to January 7, 2025.

Indonesia AirAsia President Director, Veranita Yosephine, said that the airline will operate 25 additional aircraft to anticipate the surge in passengers. She appealed to passengers to arrive early at the airport to ensure smooth check-in and boarding process.

“We are committed to providing the best service to support the smooth travel of passengers during the holiday period,” Veranita said in a statement obtained by Indonesia Business Post, on Friday, December 13, 2024.

Some of the main routes that received additional flights are Jakarta-Bali, Jakarta-Silangit, and Banjarmasin-Bali. Indonesia AirAsia also offers a variety of other domestic routes, such as Jakarta-Labuan Bajo, Bali-Labuan Bajo, Balikpapan-Bali, and Jakarta-Lampung. For international routes, the airline serves flights to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Australia.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, the number of air transportation passengers during the holiday period is estimated to reach 3.9 million, an increase of 4 persen compared to the previous year.

As part of the holiday promotion, Indonesia AirAsia is launching promo tickets with special prices to international destinations, including Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Perth. This promo ticket can be booked on December 9-15, 2024 via the AirAsia MOVE application or the official website airasia.com for flights until June 30, 2025.

One of the highlighted offers is the new Bali-Cairns, Australia route, with ticket prices starting from Rp1.3 million (A$189). This route is served three times a week− on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

“And what makes it even more economical, the promo ticket is only Rp1.3 million (Bali–Cairns) or A$ 189 (Cairns–Bali),” Veranita said.
