The Indonesian government has expressed its desire to join as a member of the OECD Global Anti-Corruption Forum, a global anti-corruption and integrity forum, in an effort to combat corruption which is considered a threat to the nation's progress.

The 2025 OECD Global Anti-Corruption & Integrity Forum is a public multi-stakeholder platform hosted by the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) to facilitate dialogue and collaboration on anti-corruption and integrity issues, bringing together governments, policy communities, the private sector, civil society and academia.

Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra on Thursday, March 27, 2025 visited the OECD Forum in Paris, France, where he emphasized the government's commitment to eradicating corruption in Indonesia.

"We realize that corruption is a serious threat to the progress of the nation," Yusril Ihza Mahendra said on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

In an effort to overcome corruption, the government continues to strengthen regulations and institutions, including the establishment of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2002, as well as the ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) in 2006.

He emphasized the commitment of President Prabowo Subianto who prioritizes the eradication of corruption in his work methods. The desire to join the OECD is expected to help maximize the eradication of corruption in Indonesia and the world.

"We hope that this step can be a concrete evidence of our seriousness in fighting corruption in accordance with international standards," Yusril concluded.
