Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, says that the government plans to lower domestic flight ticket prices during the upcoming 2025 Idul Fitri homecoming period by 13 percent to 14 percent.

In order to reduce ticket prices, the government is also providing additional incentives, namely covering part of the Value Added Tax (VAT) of 6 percent.

"Hopefully, this aggregate can lower the price of plane tickets," Agus said as quoted by Antara on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

As part of the measures to reduce the ticket price, the government will reduce cost component in airlines, by reducing the price of aviation fuel at 37 airports across the archipelago.

"Hopefully it will help people who are preparing to return to their hometowns," Agus said.

President Prabowo Subianto previously instructed airlines to lower plane ticket prices within the next two weeks.

Prabowo also ordered a reduction in toll road rates on several main roads during Idul Fitri and Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence) holidays.

Prabowo said he had assigned the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and the Ministry of Public Works to pass on the directive to business entities.

"Ensuring that all transportation facilities and public services can run smoothly, safely and facilitate the flow of people home," Prabowo said on February 28, 2025.
