Budget savings will not affect infrastructure projects: Yuliot
Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, has affirmed that the government's budget savings initiative will not impact infrastructure projects as budget reduction only applies to ministerial and institutional expenditures, not infrastructure spending.
"The budget savings will only affect government operational expenditures, while infrastructure spending remains untouched. The funding for these projects comes from Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), part of which can still be utilized for infrastructure development," Yuliot said on Friday, February 7, 2025.
This statement aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive on State Budget (APBN) efficiency, which prioritizes cost-cutting in administrative expenditures while maintaining full support for strategic infrastructure initiatives. The government seeks to optimize the state budget without compromising essential development projects.
Yuliot also emphasized that infrastructure projects will continue as planned, ensuring no disruptions despite the broader budget-saving measures.
"This will not affect ongoing projects," he said.
“The government has been pushing for fiscal discipline, ensuring that budget efficiency measures do not hinder key national development goals,” he concluded.
