Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resource (ESDM), Yuliot Tanjung, says that Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 1/2025 on the establishment of Task Force for the Acceleration of Downstream and National Energy Resilience is meant to encourage cross-sectoral integration in achieving the national oil and gas production target.

"Efforts to accelerate downstream and national energy resilience are based on three main foundations, namely policies that support investment and oil&gas exploration, utilization of technology and innovation in drilling and well intervention, and strengthening human resources," Yuliot said while addresing the Indonesia Drilling and Well Intervention Forum (IDWF) 2025 held in Bandung, West Java on Monday, February 17, 2025.

He emphasized the importance of such forum in formulating recommendations to increase oil and gas lifting for national welfare. He expressed hopes that through IDWF 2025, new innovations and technologies can be implemented immediately to support increased oil and gas production and lifting.

Head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Task Force (SKK Migas), Djoko Siswanto, highlighted the challenges of energy resilience amidst increasing national needs.

"In 2025, the target for drilling exploration wells will increase to 46 wells, an increase by 18 percent compared to last year's realization. Meanwhile, the target for drilling exploitation wells will increase by 11 percent to 993 wells," Djoko said.

He asked oil&gas contractors to be fully committed to carrying out drilling according to the 2025 work, program & budget (WPnB) guideline and to strengthen synergy between the government, contractors, investors, and technology providers, in order to create a conducive investment ecosystem.

He praised IDWF 2025 as a strategic step to strengthen coordination and synergy between stakeholders in ensuring that oil and gas exploration and exploitation targets can be achieved.

"This forum is a strategic means to share insights, experiences, and innovative solutions to create the best strategy in supporting the achievement of national energy security targets," Djoko concluded.
