India to participate in multinational naval exercise in February

The Indian Navy will participate in a naval multilateral exercise organized by Indonesian Navy that will be held in Bali in February next year, the Indonesian MIlitary (TNI) Headquarters has revealed.

The Indian Navy’s intention to join the multinational naval exercise was conveyed by Indian Navy Chief of Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi during a meeting with TNI Chief General Agus Subiyanto in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

The Indian Navy chief appreciated several multinational exercises hosted by Indonesia, including the Multilateral Naval Exercise (MNEX) and the Super Garuda Shield joint exercise.

“The Indian Navy chief expressed his desire to send the Indian Navy fleet to participate in the Multilateral Exercise organized by the Indonesian Navy which is planned to be held in Bali in February next year,” the TNI Headquarters said in a statement on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

The TNI Chief also welcomed the Indian Navy's planned participation in the Joint Naval Exercise and hoped that bilateral military cooperation both in the field of operations and joint exercises could continue to be improved.

“Thank you for this constructive meeting, and I hope that military cooperation between Indonesia and India can continue to be enhanced in the future so that it can make positive contribution to security stability in the region,” General Agus concluded.
