State telecommunication company PT Telkom Indonesia (TLKM) has launched its 25th data center, NeuCentrIX, in Pugeran, Yogyakarta, the second NeuCentrIX center in the city after  previous establishment in Kotabaru.

Bogi Witjaksono, Telkom's Director of Wholesale and International Service, highlighted that the new data center is part of the company's efforts to bolster Indonesia’s digital infrastructure and support the expanding digital economy by offering secure data storage solutions for businesses.

"With its core values of being Simple, Secure, and Standard, NeuCentrIX, as a neutral data center, underscores Telkom’s commitment to building a strong digital ecosystem and advancing digital transformation," Bogi said in astatement as quoted on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

NeuCentrIX Yogyakarta is seamlessly integrated with NeuCentrIX Semarang, providing essential digital services to various industries seeking to enhance their digital capabilities.

During the launch event, Telkom signed agreements with two major clients, PT Jembatan Citra Nusantara (Citranet) and Rumah Sakit Kasih Ibu (RSKI).

Citranet, an internet service provider, and RSKI, a healthcare facility, will utilize NeuCentrIX services to meet their operational digitalization needs.

The establishment of this modern data center is expected to strengthen digital infrastructure in Yogyakarta and its surroundings, offering secure data solutions to multiple business sectors.

In addition to the Yogyakarta center, Telkom has recently developed the NeutraDC data center in Batam, Riau Islands province, which is based on artificial intelligence (AI). Following its groundbreaking on December 21, 2022, this AI-powered data center is slated to begin operations by the third quarter of 2025.

Together with a consortium that includes SingTel and Medco Power Indonesia, Telkom has invested Rp1.4 trillion (US$90 million) to build AI-powered infrastructure, aiming for expansion over the next five years.
