Established in 2010, Japanese company Terra Charge was founded by Toru Tokushige focusing on environment-friendly transportation system in Asian countries. The company is now a leading innovator in electric vehicle charging solutions.

Terra Charge is set to significantly expand its presence in Indonesia's EV infrastructure, with plans to build 1,000 public EV charging stations (SPKLU) by the end of 2025.

This ambitious target follows the successful installation of 100 SPKLUs in major cities like Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali within just eight months.

Go Suzuki, Managing Director of Terra Charge in Indonesia, shared the company's plans about the expansion which will focus primarily on four key provinces: Jakarta, West Java, East Java, and Bali during a press conference on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

"Terra Charge plans to install more than 1,000 additional charging stations in major cities across Indonesia by the end of 2025," Suzuki said.

Toru Tokushige, CEO and Founder of Terra Charge, reaffirmed the company's commitment to supporting Indonesia's goal of reaching 2.5 million electric vehicle users by 2030.

"By building a robust charging infrastructure, Terra Charge aims to meet the growing demand for EVs and contribute to a cleaner, greener future," Tokushige said.

In alignment with Indonesia's sustainability targets, Terra Charge is dedicated to promoting sustainable transportation and reducing air pollution.

"With our efforts, we hope to contribute to reducing air pollution by 29 percent by 2030 and help Indonesia achieve its net zero emission target by 2050," Tokushige added.

The company’s investment in infrastructure and clean energy promotion is expected to play a crucial role in local communities as Indonesia accelerates its transition towards sustainable energy.
