Minister of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs), Erick Thohir, visited on Sunday, May 12, 2024, the Bali International Hospital (BIH) − currently under construction by PT Pertamina Bina Medika - Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC) − to ensure smooth construction progress of the hospital, which is expected to be one of the world-class health destinations.
"The construction of BIH is one of the commitments in realizing President Joko Widodo's vision to make Indonesia a world health tourism destination. Therefore BIH is expected to not only become a leading hospital in Indonesia, but also be able to attract patients from abroad to seek treatment in Indonesia," Erick said.
During his visit, Erick was accompanied by IHC President Director Mira Dyah Wahyuni and the management of PT Pertamedika Bali Hospital. He carefully reviewed the progress of the construction of the emergency room area, radiotherapy areas such as Linac and Brakhiterapi, as well as the radiology area which is equipped with modern medical equipment such as DR X-ray, CT scan, 3 Tesla and 1.5 Tesla MRI.
Erick added that the visit was to see whether the BIH could be completed according to target.
"This is an important step in the development of health infrastructure in Indonesia, for that we must be committed to providing the best health services and contribute to strengthening Indonesia's image as a health tourism destination at the global level," Erick said.
IHC President Director, Mira Dyah Wahyuni, said that BIH was built in order to improve the quality of health services in Indonesia. IHC as an SOE Hospital Holding will continue to strive to make BIH a hospital with international standard services.
"BIH is committed to providing excellent and quality services in the fields of Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterohepatology, and Orthopedics (CONGO)," Mira said.
BIH, which is the flagship hospital under IHC, is located in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Bali. With a building area of 50,000 square meters and consisting of four floors, BIH not only offers state-of-the-art medical facilities, but also pays attention to environmentally friendly aspects with green areas and parks as part of medical therapy for patients.
Targeted for completion in September 2024, BIH opens the door for Indonesians to access high-quality healthcare without having to go abroad. As Bali's newest health destination, BIH is expected to be a pioneer in bringing Indonesia to the international stage in the health tourism industry.
