Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (PNRE) continues to develop their projects in the field of new and renewable energy, including solar panels (solar EV).
PNRE President Director, John Anis said that his company has set a significant target for new and renewable energy projects in 2029, particularly the development of Solar EV.
"Our Solar EV is only around 50 MW and we still hope it will continue to grow. Geothermal also has 600 MW, and we still want to increase it further," John Anis told the Bisnis Indonesia BUMN Forum in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
Apart from these two projects, PNRE also plans to develop Bioethanol. John described the bioethanol development as an interesting project for PNRE as its will require collaboration with plantations.
For 2029, PNRE will add capacity of around 3.8 Gigawatt (Gw) for gas to power. Then, the addition of 1.4 Gw for Geothermal capacity. As for renewables, PNRE will target the addition of 1.3 Gw of Solar EVs, 58 Mw for wind energy, and 33 Mw for bio mass. For carbon business, PNRE targets to be able to manage around 19 Million tons of Co2 and develop 630 Million liters of bioethanol.
